Rusutsu Resort
Rusutsu Resort has been labelled as Hokkaido’s No. 1 ski resort. Spread over three mountains; Mt. Isola, East Mountain and West Mountain, it is a must visit when the fluffy stuff is falling!
I can honestly say some of my best days on mountain have been at Rusutsu Resort. When the snow has been falling here, you will find half the Niseko locals waiting for first lifts. The terrain is varied, but it is the nice little tree runs and gullies that makes this place rock your socks off.
A good start to the day is to pick up your lift ticket from the hotel and do a few runs on the West Mt. until the Gondola opens to take you over to the East Mt. and Mt. Isola side of the resort. From here you have a ton of easy access tree and gully lines to put a smile on your face. The best part about Rusutsu Resort is you always seem to pop out of the trees back on to the piste where an empty lift chair will take you back up to do it all over again – yeah maybe you shouldn’t come here!
