Niseko Snow Report: 17th January 2012

in Niseko Snow Report

Virtually no snow had fallen over night, but that was irrelevant. The town woke to virtually blue skies!

Everyone was looking to get up to the peak and ride the gullies into Hanazono, it delivered epic conditions! One of my favorite sneaky moves after getting my peak fix is to ride close to Hanazono 3 lift via gate 5. You can always find a lot of fresh turns in here when the peak is open as everyone is focused on getting back up to the peak, check it next time you may be surprised!

Around 1pm the weather moved in again, spreading flat light over the resort and it started to puke again. If your legs still have a little left in em, a night session is on the cards after dinner at Blo Blo BBQ. It is the best ¥1500 you will spend for a BBQ and includes a beer!

A few pics from around midday taken from the Rest House Ace Hill, looking out one window you have blue skies, look towards Kutchan and it was a different story!
